The new Mp3/iPod Rocking Station
Check out Charlie's Enormous Mp3 player. This is a true CEA original I built for my wonderful wife to bring to her office. The design is based on National Semiconductor's datasheet for the LM386 IC with a little influence from Beavis Audio's Little Lebowski Urban Achiever schematic (mostly just the 10mf input cap...thanks Dano!) This amplifier features dual 3.5" 8-ohm speakers, and a two-channel amplifier system (1/2 watt each) that plays your music from your preferred Mp3 player or iPod in FULL STEREO!!! The amp is nestled cozily in a beautiful cigar box and runs for hours on a 9V battery! It includes a 12" stereo cable with two 3.5mm male ends that plug directly into your Mp3 player and directly into the amp. It features an on/off toggle switch with LED indicator and a single volume knob. This beauty will not distort at full volume with your Mp3 player's input near max volume. It sounds best when you turn your iPod up about 2/3-3/4 and control the output stage with the volume control on the amp. Experiment with the sound by opening the cigar box lid slightly for some natural reverb or all the way for more bass! Enjoy stereo quality sound from a beautiful cigar box that can literally travel anywhere you go. Check out the slideshow here >>> >>> >>>
